Ex-IGP agrees advisory role in PR's national security committee
Harakahdaily, | 29 April 2013 |
Apr 29: Amid strong indication that the new Federal government will be
formed by Pakatan Rakyat next week, efforts are underway to rope in
former top civil servants including those who had not been friendly to
the coalition.
In the latest move, the Pakatan Rakyat Security Council (MKPR) - recently formed as a shadow committee on natiobal security following the embarassing Lahad Datu episode - has appointed former Inspector General of Police Musa Hasan as its advisor.

Musa announced to newsmen his acceptance of the post after meeting MKPR chairman, retired armed forces general Md Hashim Hussein, currently PKR's candidate in Johor Baharu.
Musa expressed confidence that any transfer of power after the May 5 polls will be peaceful.
He also urged his former comrades in the police force to fairly investigate the recent incidents of explosions during campaigning, where BN centres were said to be targeted.
He said a thorough probe was vital because similar such incidents could take place again in the coming days.
He also advised political parties to inform the police prior to organising their programmes.
Since his retirement in 2010 after falling out with Home minister Hishamuddin Hussein, Musa, who played a role during the so-called first sodomy trial involving opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim in 1999, has criticised the government's lack of will in fighting crimes and corruption. More recently, he has urged PR to do an 'overhaul' of the police force.
