Rosmah was also quick to point out that the candidates are the selection of her husband and the top BN leadership.
"Some people said that I had meddled in the selection of candidates. It is not true because if so, I would have known who were nominated or dropped," Rosmah was quoted by the government-controlled news agency Bernama.
He response came amid several surprise candidates announced by Najib, including PKR turncoat Zulkifli Noordin who is fielded in Shah Alam.
Many UMNO members and grassroots leaders have also been baffled by the decision.
A Shah Alam UMNO division's senior member told Harakahdaily that BN machinery was disappointed that their division's choice has been sidelined.
“It has turned into a joke,” said the businessman.
